What inspires you as an artist?
As an artist I am inspired by everything around me. My practice is greatly influenced by Design. Graphic design, industrial design and architecture, advertising and everything in between. Obvious influences in my work are also from cartoons and comics and aesthetic which has stayed with me since childhood.
What does the term ‘curator’ mean to you?
Curator to me means individual or group who develops, organises and presents a collection of works.
From both an artistic and curatorial point of view, what does ‘space’ mean to you and why?
“Space” as an artist means the location of an artwork and its context within the ‘artworld’ whereas “Space” to a curator means physical dimensions of a work.
What inspires you as a curator?
New and adventurous work which develops new ideas and ways of presenting artworks. Also what inspires me as an artist (previous question).
How do you perceive that attitude towards art in a digital context?
I am an artist who is very involved in the digital realm and hope that it could be perceived in a more positive light in the coming years. Especially due to the expansion of exhibitions to the web.
What are the challenges of digital curation?
I think the challenges of digital curation are getting noticed. The internet is such a huge place which is so easily accessible that it is hard to be noticed. That being said the negatives for digital curation can also be positives. The ease of access and the number of people who can view the exhibition online far outweigh that of conventional exhibitions so albeit difficult to conceive an exhibition online there are lots of options and many reasons to do so.

I don’t think so. The means in which you develop work is up to the artist, whether you produce work through physical or digital means the meaning and message of the work will still resonate with the audience.
Does digital technology change how you critique, produce and view art?
Yes. I feel that the internet has a particular methodology and even personality according to how work is viewed and produced. This includes a unique language and viewpoint on which art is understood and perceived.
Can you describe how artists, nationally or internationally, have utilised digital technology in regards to their practice?
There is a wealth of talented artists using computer technology in their work. These include Kenneth Snelson and Paul Brown who both use the medium to comment on or communicate a message through this emerging medium. Digital technology can be used to create 2D and 3D art, create sculpture, prints and even paintings. The digital medium is quickly growing and slowly people are catching on to the vast possibilities that computers can provide.

Yes, there are big different . craft, is hand making, but for technology most work are using computer.

My parents were layers so I’ve always followed their definition of the term which meant : a guardian of a minor, lunatic, or other incompetent, esp. with regard to his or her property.
From both an artistic and curatorial point of view, what does ‘space’ mean to you and why? My grandfather was an astronaut, but I never took his definition of the word. It’s just something that hasn’t be occupied by anything at that point of time. But could possibly be occupied by things in the future.

In a way both can be achieved in a digital context, but not in such a satisfying way. Also it’s another ball game altogether aswell as far as art is concerned

A major difference, if I’m doing a real world artwork it tends to be more realistic and serious, whereas my digital works are all humorous and tend to be mostly line-work

I suppose it does, I tend to have a lower tolerance for bad art in a digital sense, as for production I’ve already mentioned. The fact that I can keep a digital replica of an artwork it always nice though.

Illustrators have been doing it for years, artists can keep a digital portfolio of all their links in the simplest way and it can be critiqued around the world. Wonderous.
