Curatorial Statement

Fishy-Oneness is a collaborative virtual gallery exhibition started by 8 talented SCA students.
The theme of our exhibition is a flawed perception, featuring the art of disguises, masks and characters. The dungeon site is a perfect environment to display the works of these artists due to the historical nature and the mysterious ambience.

The exhibition is taking place in the main corridor of the dungeons. It was chosen because it clearly had the essence of a fishy-oneness; it's open, spacious and is easily accessible. The dark and dull walls will be transformed into clean white walls. The content of the artists' works are quite varied, each relating to our singular theme.

Fishy-Oneness galleries is a gallery that doesn't take itself too seriously but enjoys the fun and mystery behind each character. May the Oneness be with you.

Thom Bransdon
Thom's work fits the theme of "Characters" perfectly. His work includes presentations of anthropomorphic creatures, mainly crocodiles in complex and estranged allegories against their human counterparts. Often using screen-printing alongside drawing and painting techniques to develop a layered image with an obvious hand-drawn and very detailed work.
The work we chose to include by Thom is Untitled, Civil War Crocodilian (screen print and gouache on wood, 2010).
