Curatorial Statement


Fishy-Oneness is a collaborative virtual gallery exhibition started by 8 talented SCA students. The theme of our exhibition is a flawed perception, featuring the art of disguises, masks and characters. The dungeon site is a perfect environment to display the works of these artists due to the historical nature and the mysterious ambience.

The exhibition is taking place in the main corridor of the dungeons. It was chosen because it clearly had the essence of a fishy-oneness; it's open, spacious and is easily accessible. The dark and dull walls will be transformed into clean white walls. The content of the artists' works are quite varied, each relating to our singular theme.

Fishy-Oneness galleries is a gallery that doesn't take itself too seriously but enjoys the fun and mystery behind each character. May the Oneness be with you.

Scott Blume
My practice includes a vast array of imagery. This often includes bold lines and block color. Due to a design background my concepts stem from this aesthetic although my work is not limited to a single medium or method; ranging from prints, sculptures and installations. A lot of my work is developed digitally as this is an area of comfort for me. Although using materials such as wood is vital to my practice. Bringing tangible materials and digital imagery is what I am interested in.
Characters have always drawn my attention. Developing from a childhood obsession with cartoons and comic books and an adolescent interest in illustration. Characters appear most often amongst all the imagery in my work. For my practice characters are a focus point of concept and narrative for any piece they appear within.
